In winter the colder wetter weather can have adverse effects on scratches and scuffs on your car, if left untreated. It doesn’t take long for bare metal to start to rust and scuffs on plastic to start to peel. - If it’s a scuff or scratch on a plastic panel, get a touch up stick and seal the broken paintwork. This will prevent the paint from lifting and flaking of in larger chunks.
- If the damage is on a metal panel use a rust eater fluid on the bare metal then once dry use a touch up stick as above to seal off the metal from the elements.
- If your concerned about your wheel arches or that they are susceptible to rust then dry off the inner wheel arch section and coat with grease, this will aid the run off of water reducing the chance of rust bubbles forming.
- Stone chips should also be touched in as above.
Using the above tips will aid in reducing the chance of paint on your bodywork rusting, peeling or flaking.
